Community Guidelines
Waka Care Solutions • Kampala, Uganda • legal@wakahelper.com
WakaHelper is built on trust. Families trust that the Workers they meet are genuine and safe. Workers trust that the Employers they engage will treat them fairly. These Community Guidelines set out the standards of behaviour that every user — Employer and Worker alike — must follow to keep this community safe, respectful, and honest.
Violations of these guidelines may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent account ban.
1. Honesty and Authenticity
- Present yourself truthfully. Your profile photo must be a recent, accurate photo of you — not an AI-generated image of someone else, a celebrity, or a family member.
- Your stated skills, qualifications, and experience must be genuine.
- Job listings must accurately describe the role, location, pay, and conditions. Do not post bait-and-switch listings.
- Do not create multiple accounts. One person, one account.
2. Respectful Communication
- Treat every person on the Platform — regardless of their role, background, age, tribe, religion, or gender — with respect.
- Harassment, insults, threats, and demeaning language are not permitted in messages, reviews, or any other part of the Platform.
- Do not share unsolicited sexual content or make unwanted sexual advances in messages.
- Do not use all-caps, aggressive tone, or repeated messaging to pressure another user.
3. Safe Messaging Practices
- Do not share your personal contact details (phone number, WhatsApp, email, home address) in your first message to a new contact. Use the Platform’s messaging system.
- Do not attempt to move conversations off the Platform in order to avoid paying the PP Unlock fee. This undermines the safety and trust infrastructure we provide.
- Be cautious about any request to share sensitive personal or financial information in messages.
4. No Scam or Fraud Activity
- Employers: Never ask a Worker for money in exchange for a job interview, placement consideration, or employment. This is fraud.
- Workers: Never ask an Employer for money before starting work. Never fabricate an emergency to solicit funds.
- Do not impersonate another user, a business, or a Waka Care Solutions staff member.
- Do not post fake job listings to harvest personal data or phone numbers.
5. Reviews Must Be Genuine
- Only leave a review if you have had a direct, real employment experience with the person you are reviewing.
- Do not pay for, arrange, or solicit fake positive reviews.
- Do not submit a false negative review to damage a competitor or someone who declined you.
- Reviews must be factual and fair. Opinion is allowed; fabrication is not.
6. Privacy of Others
- Do not share another user’s personal information (phone number, home address, photos) outside the Platform without their consent.
- Do not record or photograph a Worker’s identity documents and share them without their knowledge.
- Do not use the Platform to stalk, monitor, or track another person.
7. Child Safety
- Any content or behaviour that exploits, endangers, or sexualises children is absolutely prohibited and will be reported to Uganda Police immediately.
- Workers applying for childcare roles must be WakaVerified.
- See our full Child Safety Policy.
8. Reporting Violations
If you encounter behaviour that violates these guidelines:
- Use the Report button on the relevant profile, message, or job listing; or
- Email trust@wakahelper.com with details of the violation.
We aim to review all reports within 48 hours. We treat all reports confidentially and will not disclose the identity of the reporter to the reported user.
9. Enforcement
| Severity | Action |
|---|---|
| Minor first offence (e.g., slightly misleading profile bio) | Warning + required correction within 48 hours |
| Repeat minor or single significant violation (e.g., harassment) | Temporary suspension (7–30 days) |
| Serious violation (e.g., fraud, fake documents, abuse) | Permanent account ban |
| Criminal activity (e.g., child exploitation, identity theft) | Permanent ban + report to Uganda Police |
Appeals against suspensions or bans may be submitted to appeals@wakahelper.comwithin 14 days. We will review appeals and communicate our decision within 10 business days.
